The Roadmap, the book of Acts

This post concerns a roadmap to the values for us today of the book of Acts.

‘The Roadmap’ discusses important points from the book of Acts.

The usual title appears as ‘Acts of the Apostles.’ However, Acts of the Holy Spirit better characterizes this historical book because the Holy Spirit directs everything.

So, in the introduction, the writer Luke, mentions a second book to Theophilus about Jesus that he had written, namely, the gospel of Luke. This similar introduction means that Luke wrote two volumes about Jesus and the plan of salvation.

Acts opens with an account of what happened to Jesus’ body. It ascended back to the Father in heaven.

Next, the Holy Spirit fell on the apostles, and the first gospel sermon explained God’s plan of salvation for believers, Acts 2:38. “Repent and…baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins,”

This preaching resulted in the formation of the first church, Acts 2:41. “… those who received his word were baptized, and there were added that day about three thousand souls.”

After that, they devoted themselves to the apostles teaching and prayers.

Thereafter, in the chapters following, the church’s work of preaching and converting the lost appears. Mixed in, one finds the persecution of church members by the Jews.

Significant conversions of the Samaritans and the Gentiles clarifies the preaching of the gospel to the entire world, or the Jews and Gentiles.

Then, travels and difficulties of the Apostle Paul illustrate how the gospel spread across the entire Roman world, first in Asia Minor and then in Rome itself.

This book adequately shows us how to become a Christian in today’s world and affect our eternal salvation.

So, what did we learn?

1.Therefore, Jesus ascended to heaven to sit at God’s right hand.

2.Also, the Holy Spirit fell on the apostles and guided them in preaching God’s plan of salvation, namely, believe, repent, and be baptized.

3. So the church preaches to the world to convert people to Christ.
