When and where would Jesus be glorified? John 17:1-5

Jesus asks the Father to glorify Him so He can glorify the Father. Jesus states that He has accomplished the work on earth that God wanted him to do. Only one thing remains—the cross which would glorify the Father on this earth. Now He asks the Father to glorify Him in the presence of the Father with the same glory He had before creation—that is, heaven. Only the cross stands in the way before His ascension to the Father.
