Praise God, Psalm 150

This post concerns where and how we should praise and glorify God in our lives.

Praise God discusses how we should feel about God, Psalm 150. “Praise the LORD! Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens! Praise him for his mighty deeds; praise him according to his excellent greatness! Praise him with trumpet sound; praise him with lute and harp! Praise him with tambourine and dance; praise him with strings and pipe! Praise him with sounding cymbals; praise him with loud clashing cymbals! Let everything that has breath praise the LORD! Praise the LORD!

This Psalm highlights deep praise of God beginning where God dwells in the Holy of Holies above the arc of the covenant in the tabernacle, and later in the temple.

But this much glorification does not result in a sufficient amount of praise.

So, we praise God for His mighty deeds—creation of the heavens and the earth, the flood, and giving His Son to die on the cross. This all amounts to His excellent greatness that deserves this praise.

In fact, glorification can come from all the available musical instruments and methods used by the Israelites in worship—trumpets, lutes, harp, tambourine, strings, pipes, cymbals.

Further, an increase of the intensity of the cymbals emphasizes that God deserves the loudest glory.

He has revealed in His word that He is the only God to ever exist. Therefore, that alone deserves glorification and praise.

Finally, let all those alive—people and animals—praise their situation as created beings.

This brings forth the loudest summary: PRAISE THE LORD!!!

As we contemplate life and think about it we should diligently add to our life continual praise of God. He certainly deserves all the glorification we can imagine and even more.

So, what did we learn?

1.Everything imaginable praises God for all the deserving things He has accomplished.

2.We should adapt our lives to an attitude of glorifying God!
