Why  would the Jews say that Jesus had a DEMON? John 8:48-59

Jesus said, “If anyone keeps my word, he will never see death,” meaning spiritual death. The Jews said He had a demon because both Abraham and the prophets had died. Did Jesus claim to be greater than them? Jesus replied that Abraham was glad to have seen His day. The Jews said He couldn’t have seen Abraham because He wasn’t 50 years old. Jesus said that He existed before Abraham. That caused the Jews to try to stone Him.
