What was all the fuss of the Jews with Jesus? John 8:29-44

After healing the lame man at the pool, Jn. 5:1-18, Jesus was almost constantly in disagreement with the Jews as to who He was. He claimed God as His Father and explained why they did not believe Him: They were children of the devil and did not hear or believe His words and they did the works of the devil instead of the works of God, their alleged father. This means their minds were not attuned to the true words of God as expressed by His Son.
