How did the Jews misunderstand the BREAD OF LIFE? John 6:27-35

Jesus told them to work for the food that endures to eternal life from Him. They asked what should they do to please God and wanted a sign like Moses fed them manna. Jesus replied that God had been the One giving them bread. Now, God was giving them Jesus as the Bread of Life. Those that believed in Him would never thirst. The Jews thought Jesus would provide physical food with no thought of spiritual food.
