Essential Beliefs in Christianity: Jesus Resurrected- John 20:1-20

Christians believe that Jesus was crucified and, as announced by angels, arose from the grave, Matt. 28:1-7; Luke 24:1-6. Further, as proof of arising from the dead, He appeared to many—Peter, the apostles, and 500 brethren—1 Cor. 15:6. The empty tomb shows that He arose, John 20:1-9. Jesus explained that His cruel treatment on the cross, His death, His burial, and His resurrection had been prophesied, Is. 52:13-53:12.
