What do we learn from Jesus saying “your word is truth”? John 17:17-19

Two important lessons come from these verses. First, “your word is truth” proves that the scriptures are the truth and from God. This verse augments 2 Timothy 3:16-17 and 2 Peter 1:20-21 and show that the Bible is inspired by God. The second lesson is that the scriptures are the truth that is needed today for salvation. Jesus was going back to God. The disciples would remain on this earth to teach this truth.
