Why does John report that the JEWS could NOT believe?  John 12:37-43

John explains why the Jews did not believe even though many signs had been done: Isaiah, 6:9-10, had prophesied that the people’s hearts would be so hardened that publicly they would not admit to believing in Jesus. John says, v. 42-43, that they feared being put out of the synagogues and losing the glory they received. The lesson: Public glory must never keep us from publicly saying that we are Christians.
